Registration is now open for this year’s Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference in Kansas City.  Justice Alito will again headline the event, giving a virtual tour of the Supreme Court.  He’s also holding a private reception with first-time conference goers.

Former solicitors general Ken Starr, Ted Olson, and Paul Clement are also presenting.  Starr, now president of Baylor University, will give the Supreme Court update.  And Olson and Clement are participating in a panel discussion titled “Litigating High Profile Cases: Health Care, NFL, Bush v. Gore, etc.”  The two squared off in the Eighth Circuit last year in Brady v. NFL, with Clement and his clients (NFL owners) coming out on top.  Incidentally, there will also be a panel on the history of NFL litigation in the Eighth Circuit.

The conference runs from August 8-10.  The full agenda is available here.
